End of the month and time to show off the pics for this month's color [for my colorproject] which was grey. I was unmotivated, uninspired,  sick and did a lot of others stuff + grey was a difficult color so not many pics and I am not content but what the heck.

Sick of this stupid cold now, of feeling ill.

Yeah, I've caught a cold. Since wednesday evening, the evening of my birthday, I've been feeling like shit. Lucas too. We watched Fight Club yesterday  but I had no energy to laugh or comment at it, I just laid there and stared.

It has been an awful night too, and I slept for a really long time and then I've been reading some. Think I will be reading some more during the day. I got two new books as a present from my lovely friend Hanna and I just started one. I've been meaning to read Murakami for like 2 years but like so many other things, it never happened.

yup, that's how old I am, cause today is my birthday :3

The year as a 20year old has been interesting. A lot has happened during that year. I got my 50mm f/1.8 which has since then been glued to my camera. And I went to london wich was so amazing and I want to do it all again. I've been drinking more kinds of bear than.. I don't know, haha! And it's been a hell of a year emotionally. But I've grown into a more mature, less naiv of a person.

And now I'm 21. It sounds really grown up. Woah. I mean 20 was a bit cooler than 18, but one still felt young. But 21. Time to embrace the life as an adult? ... Naaah ;D

This is my Nabaztag called Annie. It's been a while since she was aloud to be awake but I plugged her in today :3 Funny little thing she is..

She can do a lot. Tell me what time it is, wake me up [with a song or messege], act as a radio, give weather-rapports, tell me what happens on my facebook, news, notify me when I have an email and much much more. She has her own personality as well and says her own things, wiggles her ears and stuff. And my friends can send messeges to her/me that she'll read ^^

Could not sleep very well [like.. not at all] tonight due to a lot of stuff. One of them is that it's fuckin' freezin in my room! Anywho..

Got up at like 08.30 and since then I've been drinking coffé and I drew a little as well.

Overall very content with this, especially the lips. Although I see now that I should've had some more shadow to the left, for perspective's sake. Ah well. I wanted to go for a more realistic style, the eyes where a pain but the right one got pretty ok but to make the other one the same is not easy. Think the left one is a bit bigger. And also the right one looked better first, but I pulled my hand over it a few times while I did the hair so I got smudged out and I had to re-do it a little ._."

 

Ah well I am overall content, especially considering the fact that I do not draw very often.

Did not play WoW. Took some coffé, read The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe and re-edited an old pic instead.

Home now after spending quite some time at Lucas place. It's empty and feels weird. No Lucas, not his family and not lots of cats strotting in to the room and wants to cuddle. But it's good too, to be able to be without eachother. And it feels nice to be home in a way to, since all my stuff are here etc. And to spend some time with my mum.

I will go up early tomorrow, train a little. Clean. And read about photography/prices/rights and then email the people I worked for about how much I want to be payed. Need to contact my uncle too, se if I can invoice through his company. My mum and I are also gonna go shopping tomorrow, food etc. Gonna have a little "party" on wednesday since it's my birthday then :) And I'm going to make some nice sallad, have bread etc.

I should also photo more grey, and play with my new lens some more. A lot to do, will see just how much I'll have time for tomorrow.

Now I'll play some more WoW though :D

my comp is running good and almost installed everything. Need some musicplayer [winamp or iTunes?] and office. Also have not installed Photoshop yet!!! Gotta do that, have a few pics in my camera that I want to process..

Best of all is that I have WoW again, so played til' pretty late this night and thus I'm rather tired today hah.

But soon me, Lucas and his mom is going in to town to grab some lunch, my mum is going to join too. Will be nice.

Need to get Lucas out of bed though.. he's even more tired than me. hah

My new harddrive for my computers has arrived, and my mum installed it today. So I have my comp back, up and running. I am now installing a lot of stuff. Takes a while.

A day that is waay to commercial and materialistic for me. I don't like the idea of giving people things on a specific day to show that I like them. I'd rather do something nice/cosy instead. And I really don't think this day is just for all the couples out there, it's a day when you should let friends, parents, well everyone that means something to you, that you like them.

Me and Lucas are going to the movies. We're gonna se Wolfman, maybe not the most romantic movie but we don't care, we're just gonna have a good time.

drew a little this morning while drinking my sacred morning-coffé

 

Drew it on paper with just a pen, then coloured it in Photoshop CS2 using my Wacom Tablet. Took like 1-2hours perhaps.

 

Sixth book in a vampire-series me and my mum are reading. They are very teenagy but they're nice. They all have a simple language, are not to long and you finish them quickly but this one was extreme and more of a filler for the next book.. I don't know, they are not too god in either writing or story and definitely not "classy" in the way with how vampires look or how they are/live etc. Yet I got hooked and must continue to read and find out what happens haha.

 

"On a burn ward, a man lies between living and dying, so disfigured that no one from his past life would even recognize him. His only comfort comes from imagining various inventive ways to end his misery. Then a woman named Marianne Engel walks into his hospital room, a wild-haired, schizophrenic sculptress on the lam from the psych ward upstairs, who insists that she knows him – that she has known him, in fact, for seven hundred years. She remembers vividly when they met, in another hospital ward at a convent in medieval Germany, when she was a nun and he was a wounded mercenary left to die. That is what's written at the back of the book and thus what made me buy it [well first of all it was the way the book looks hehe]. It was a bit slow in the beginning and I wondered if it was going to get any good.

 

So basically it's about this former pornstar who get such severely burned that you cannot recognise him, and how a woman enters his life and says that they know each other, that they did it more than 700 years ago. It's no fantasy book, it takes place in modern life and the modern world and it's rather everyday-ish. This man is the main character and it's about his life, his thoughts about the world, people around him, feelings etc. He is very clever and it's interesting to follow what he thinks and how he arguments about things. Many of her stories about their past has a hidden meaning/ moral lesson to them which are interesting to follow. So anywho, you follow him and his life, her telling more stories and how things turn out when they get to know each other more and so on.

 

A very good, interesting and somewhat twisted book. Made me think alot. Read it!

 

Super Mario Bros for Wii is what we played and Hanna's place last night. Had some dip, coke candy and played a lot of Maria. It was a blast! Some bad words slipped our mouths as well.. ^^" But mostly we just laughed. Went home around 02.00 so we played for quite some time D:

Been wearing baggy jeans, big t-shirts and a colorful hoodie the past week. Sort of a skate/street-style. I borred the cute tee from Lucas, it matched my new hoodie :3 Anywho, it's both cosy and good looking!

I belive I am one of those. Don't take it the wrong way though, I do not mean in the shallow "I dress like this to fit it/because this is modern no matter what I think of the clothes"-way. I mean that.. some days I want to dress in a very female way -  and I feel really good about it.

But I miss my more extreme, "alternative" style. To pop out from the crow, that people look at me. Attention whore? Why yes sir;) haha. Nah but I don't just mean a bunch of black. There is a way to be alternative in a fancy way, and I miss it. Of course there's pros and cons of everything. Grown ups often judge one just because you're "alternative"  and you get accepted in a very narrow circle of people. If you go out to a pub, guys with a "normal" style does not look at you, just only other alternative peope -> they are not always that many.

Lately, I've started listening a lot too electro/hardstyle and thus, I'd like too have a bit of a cyberpunk/rave-style, look like that certain days.

And then sometimes I want long dreads, clothes in earty colors and be very bohemian. I wish I had a huge pile of money so that I could buy a lot of different clothes and accessories, and then combine what I like from the different styles and make my own style - but I don't. Hah!

Question is; Is this wrong? Am I not being "mysefl" because I change/want to change style. I would/do feel comfortable in all of them. And all of them is a little piece of me. There is a very feminine Rania, one alternative, one Cyber-Rania and one bohemian Rania inside of me. Sounds schizofrenic? A tad..

I do however, think that the border to cross for witch to "enter" schizofrenia is a thin one. I mean, you act very different depening on the fact if you are with your parents, friend, boyfriend, your work. Hide some sides of you and bring other sides out. But you are still you in every situation. So are you schizo then? You tell me.

Sitting here and listening to Infeceted Mushroom, Etnica and Hallucinogen while pondering these deep, weird and "very essential" things haha.

This is one heck of an awsome style that I've spent the morning reading about. Victorian style, mixed with how they thought thing would look like today, in the future. New technology, mechanics and steam-driven things. Gears etc.. it's a very aestethically appealing style. I need money so that I can order some steampunk-jewelry. The rain was pouring down, and I've been walking around for days thinking about photographing someone behind glass, and today it finually happened. Yuletide should be a holiday/season of joy, and love.
I have experianced some of it. Met realtives and done lot's of fun stuff,
eaten nice food etc.

But I have also had to deal with too much shit during this season. Grown-ups fighting, discussing loudly, cheating on eachother, talking behind each others backs and god nows what.. I've had to listen to it all, during the entire december.

I hope most people out there has had a nice december month and lovely christmas-days and that the upcoming days and new years eve also will be joyful!

Don't forget to spread some smiles and love around you all, we all need it.

A friend taught me how to shoot HDR a while ago. I shot these two in Gothenburg.

 

They were insanely good live!

 

I tied the camera around my hand, headbanged and photographed.

I had not planned to use my Lensbaby 2.0 but that lens was on and well.. I had some alkohol in my blood so I did not care at the time. I took a lot of pictures and most were just blurry/out of focus but I got some good ones.

Oh my, I totually forgot to mention a photographer earlier. And this one I've been following for a really long time, and he's absolutely one of my top favourites. He's so damn good and has inspired me alot. He takes stunning pictures and both composition and light in them are always wonderful, what I like most about his pictures is the colours! They are so strong and.. I can't explain it. I've always followed him on Bilddagboken and it was not until today that I though "damn he must have a homepage" and of course he had!

Anywho, while drinking coffé [with a little bit of kahlua in it <3] I've been looking at some photographers and their portfolios. And I thought I'd share some of them with you.

I first read their names in a blog-post by Angelina Belle Bergenwall [a really good photographer!] and decided to check them out myself. And these are the ones I found that I really liked;

Lara Jade was the first one I liked. Her homepage is nice but took some time to navigate/had to much effects but then I found her flickr.

Shot a lot of white today *satisfied*

This is what it can look like at home when I'm really into it. I build a miniature "studio" in my window using books, white paper and a piece of glass.

 

I just had one of those most amazing moments. When I become one with my photography.

There is just.. nothingness. No time and space. No hunger. Just the art becoming alive. I am not a person, my camera is not a camera and there are no settings such as shutterspeed or aparture to adjust. We are one being, a creature. Soaring around the "object" and just.. flowing as art is being born. It's really amazing when it happens. Maybe I sound crazy but I don't care, this is how it is and this is what happens.

(I think there is a word for this sort of state I enter.. but can't find it. Astral Projection is not right, that's too extreme.. but close enough? hm.. )

Afterwards however, I snap out of it. I usually start by checking the time and quite some has passed, and then I often realize that I am hungry. Haha! Takes a lot of energy to create ;)

But I love the feeling so darn much <3

That's something one can do when bored... and record it.

Bought it at West Coast Riot

Since this is a photoblog and photography is what I love, I thought it might be interesting to know what I carry around in my camera-bag.

• AF-S Nikkor DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
• AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D
• Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG
• Lensbaby 2.0
• Manfrotto Modo 785B Tripod
• Reflecgtor 5in1 (60cm)

The reason why I choose Nikon is mostly because people I know have Nikon, so that I was I had the opportunity to try and get used to. Easy peasy! Then why D80? I wanted something more from the camera and more new than D40 and this was in a good class rate. It's not a pro-camera but not überbeginner either. I like it and it was a good choice.

My first lens after that (18-55 came along as a kitobjective) was Sigma 70-300mm I think. I don't think I would've bought it today, if I would've known more about it. I should've saved money and bought something better but I have used it alot, mostly outside shooting animals etc. Have been hunting birds with it A Lot.

Then came the Lensbaby 2.0 after trying one that my friend has. It's a wonderful lens and can produce great pictures, but it takes practice and patience.

Then I bought Nikkor 50mm and that is what I always always use, I love it! It has a low aperture and right now I want to shoot portraits/people a lot and that lens is very well suited for it.

My friend got a new flash, so I bought her old. Have not used it much though but I got my reflector something during that time and that one I have used a lot more :)

I got my manfrotto tripod for christmas 2009.

Well, that's some basic info about what I use. But remember that no camera or equipment is magical. It's all in the photographer and these are just tools of help^^

I am a 20 year old girl from Sweden that is very stubborn - comes from my mum and the fact that I am born in the north, were we are stubborn as hell hah! I'm always in a good mood, I do not let defeat pull me down and I act like all is well around people. On the inside on the other hand, a lot goes on. I am a real ponderer and most of my brooding takes place during night, I'm a nightbird for sure. Carpe Noctem.

I'm also one hell of a bookworm - love to read, buy and own books. They're beautiful. Think I'm a bit of a coffé addict too.. It just tastes so good :3 Red wine and/or beer is also very nice. I love to sit down and just grab a bear, or make food together with friends, eat, have some wine and a good time. I l o v e cats and want one of my own one day, my mum is super-allergic T_T

During my spare time I read lots of books, listen to music [my last.fm] and hang with my friends and my bf. I'm also a big nerd [and proud of it!] so there's a lot of tv-gaming going on, I have four consoles. Or on my PSP. I also play WoW a lot.

As you've probably understood since this is a photoblog, I am a creative person [pisces duuh]. My camera is always with me and I photograph a lot, and when not, I think about photography. I see the world around me like through a lens. I photograph everything inbetween nature and animals to stillife and portaits. All genres and styles appeal to me right now, I want to try it all and I love it! I am like an empty cup that wants to taste everything and will never be full.

Occasionally [it's very rare] I draw a little. But all my energy is focused on photography.

I can really become one with my photography and forget about time and space, hunger and human needs. And that my friends - is the most amazing feeling ever!

I live in the southern parts of Sweden, but was orignally born way up north. I'm glad I live here now, I would never have met all amazing people, discovered styles, music or maybe even photography. And I would not have done and seen the things I have if I would have lived way up in that little shitty place hah. But the nature there sure is amazing! Sweden is in a lot of ways rather boring though, I want to travel a lot and see the world, different cultures and hear different languages.

I took a break during december, with christmas and all going on. So the next color was now finished, at the end of january. And that color was blue. A set with all can be found here.

Last day of the month and time to publish the color I've been shooting, and also the first color I shot for my little project. A flickr set with them all and in bigger scale can be found here. Below is a few of 'em, enjoy~~!

This is my idea that just "fell from the sky" one day.

Each month I'll photograph a color. This is to push my boundaries and creativity a bit. It is so easy to just shoot "the same old usual pictures", go out and shoot some nice flowers, have the same style in every pic etc. Now I'm forced to look more, see everyday objects in a new way. "Think outside the box".

At the end of each month, I'll show my pictures and also choose or let others choose, the color for the next month.

I also urge other to do the same, because it's really fun, challenging and very useful for a photographer. If you actually do this, please send me a link with your pictures, I'd love to see them!
